2,000 join Christmas Day parkruns at Eaton Park and Colney Lane
Imaginations ran riot as nearly 2,000 people took part in colourful Christmas day parkruns at Eaton Park and Colney Lane.
“What a wonderful time we had. Such a great atmosphere, lots of smiles and festive fancy dress. Was lovely to see so many Santas, elves, festive hats and leggings as well as a few inflatable snowmen, gingerbread men and women and a festive dinosaur,” reported an Eaton parkrun spokesman where 1,210 ran, jogged or walked the course, including Pirita Paajanen, who completed her 100th parkrun and Ellie Scott who marked her 300th.
Among the 755 Colney Lane runners were centurions James Petersen, Gary Randall, Airon Curl-Roper, Kevin Willoughby and Kimberly Youngman. Unofficial milestones were marked by John Cronin (150) and Janice Coglin-Hibbert (300) and Bob Carter volunteered for the 50th time.
