Community organisations and charities across Aylsham will have the chance to bid for £3,000 to help with capital projects.

Aylsham Town Council has a pot of £22,000 of ‘New Homes Bonus’ money which is available for handout.

But instead of the council making the decision on which organisations receive the cash, the community is being asked to make that decision at a ‘Your Voice, Your Decision’ event at the council’s annual town meeting.

The meeting will be on April 30 at 7pm in the town hall.

Organisations need to submit bids by the closing date of March 31. A shortlist will be drawn up within a few days.
Representatives of shortlisted projects will be invited to present their case at the annual town meeting, and the decisions will be made by the audience.

The maximum bid is £3,000, each organisation may submit only one bid.

Full information is in the guidance notes which are available on the town council website, together with the application form.
New Homes Bonus money is government money awarded to communities that have accommodated new development over a period of time.
