Cromer Carnival committee has confirmed that their application for the Red Arrows at this year’s carnival has been unsuccessful.

A spokesman for the Red Arrows said: “Every year the number of requests far outstrips the resources available. We do look at all options to support as many events throughout the country as possible.”

The Red Arrows have been coming to Cromer since 1981 and are traditionally one of the highlights of carnival day. Carnival chairman Tony Shipp said: “We are obviously disappointed that the Red Arrows will not be with us this year. They have become synonymous with Cromer Carnival.”

He added: “We are working hard on trying to get another exciting aerial display for this year.”
