Have your say on sites for future development

Broadland District Council has launched a consultation with residents and other stakeholders on its ‘preferred options’ for siting potential future development.

The consultation will run until September 2 and plans have been drawn up for each parish where development is proposed, based on feedback from previous consultations, indicating the level of development and proposed sites, together with guidelines for the development. This includes where housing, community facilities or employment might be sited.

“We have already consulted on potential development sites,” explained the Council’s Portfolio Holder for Planning, Shaun Vincent. “Now we want to know what people think about our preferred options and more detailed aspects of the plan.”

The ‘Site Allocations: Preferred Options’ document proposes sites for development in 29 towns, villages and settlements across the Broadland District. It also sets out proposals for settlement limits in those places where further ‘infill’ development is permitted.

There will be public exhibitions throughout July and, from July 1, the Preferred Options document can be viewed at all libraries within Broadland and the Millennium Library, Norwich, at Broadland District Council offices, 1 Yarmouth Rd, Norwich, and on the Council’s Consultation Portal (http://broadland-consult.objective.co.uk).
