Following the hugely successful Festival of Nature Writing in 2011, Gresham’s School in Holt will run an even bigger Festival of Nature from 24 February to 1 March 2014.

The Festival will focus on the nature of Norfolk through its relationship with land and water and will host an exciting programme of events from art exhibitions and talks to a creative writing workshop.

The Festival will welcome Mark Cocker, prize winning author, radical landscape poet Harriet Tarlo and artist Judith Tucker alongside conservationists, art historians, poets, herbalists, artists, biologists and nature writers who will contribute to a fascinating and interesting list of events centred round the surrounding landscape and nature of Norfolk.

The Festival Lecture will be given by Mark Cocker who is revered as one of the nation’s foremost nature writers. He is author of nine books, including Crow Country which was shortlisted for a number of awards, including the Samuel Johnson Prize in 2008, and has just launched his latest book Birds and People (with award winning wildlife photographer David Tipling).

Other highlights include a week-long exhibition of the collaboration between radical landscape poet Harriet Tarlo alongside artist, and Senior Lecturer at the University of Leeds, Judith Tucker.

The Festival of Nature will launch on 24th February with a free event where visitors can enjoy an exhibition by Judith Tucker and Harriet Tarlo at the Auden Theatre Foyer.
