Appeal following Hellesdon accident

Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision on the A140 Cromer Road on the outskirts of Norwich last night.

It happened in Hellesdon at about 5.50pm between the junction with Norwich Airport and Holt Road roundabout when a silver Lexus RX450 travelling towards Norwich was involved in a collision with a silver Nissan Almera travelling towards Aylsham.

A black BMW which was travelling behind the Nissan was also involved in the incident, colliding with both vehicles.

The driver of the Nissan suffered serious injuries including broken legs and chest injuries while two rear seat passengers in the car suffered bruising and one suffered a broken arm. The driver of the Lexus suffered bruising and no one in the BMW was injured.

The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident and re-opened at approximately 11.20pm.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has information concerning the driving manner of either vehicle prior to the collision.
