Half-term family fun at Holt Country Park

North Norfolk District Council’s (NNDC) Countryside Rangers are hosting a range of activities for children and adults at Holt Country Park during the February half-term holiday.  There’s no need to book in advance, just turn up on the day.

The full list of Holt Country Park events is as follows:

Monday 16 February

Shelter building

10.30am – 12.30pm

Learn how to survive in the woods! Build an outdoor shelter from woodland material without any tools – just use your skill.  Your well-earned reward is a hot drink and

marshmallows and a prize will be awarded for the best shelter design.

£1 per child

Adults free

No booking required. Children must be with an adult at all times.

Wednesday 18 February

Explore the woods for winter wildlife

1 – 3pm

Enjoy a mini beast hunt, followed by scavenger hunt. Learn about our different trees and how birds and mammals survive in winter. Make a leaf crown, bird mask and bird feeder to take home.

£1 per child

Adults free

Every Monday and Wednesday

Muddy Boots volunteer club

Monday 1pm – 3.30pm
Wednesday 10am – 12 noon

NNDC’s rangers run Muddy Boots conservation events for volunteers who would like to help with practical conservation work and wildlife surveys.  Come along and carry out practical conservation work to help improve habitats for wildlife, where you can not only lend a hand with physically active work, but also learn new skills such as tree planting and pruning, making wildlife homes and much more!


No booking required. Children must be with an adult at all times.
