The Cromer Christmas Show exploded on to stage with its opening night on Saturday, at the Pavilion Theatre.

An electric atmosphere of expectation ran through the audience as they waited for the curtain to go up. The show at the end of the pier has a loyal loyal following, who all expect the best of variety entertainment, and they weren’t disappointed.

The man bringing all the acts together is Norfolk’s top variety entertainer Olly Day. The audience was crying with laughter at the jokes, old and new, and the banter from him, although you felt that this is just as he is, not performing.

The show opened with the fabulous talented dancers and a charming routine setting the pace for the show to follow. Martyn James, a talented magician and comedian, had the audience amazed with his magic.

The vocalists this season are the lovely Emily Yarrow, who has a spell-binding voice, and Duncan Sandilands, who has a deep melodic voice. When they sang O Holy Night spines tingled.

The children of Marlene’s School of Dancing are as charming and entertaining as always and, together with the youth choir, sound and look delightful.

This show is fast-moving with scenery and lighting to match the fabulous costumes, a happy and joyful atmosphere to be enjoyed by all ages.

The music arranged and performed by Nigel Hogg is always of a high standard. A fantastic show which goes on until the end of December, and it’s in North Norfolk so go and see it, better than any tonic.
