Armed officers arrest man at Norwich Airport

Police are investigating an incident at Norwich International Airport which happened in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday 25 April).

Officers were called shortly before 2.30am following reports a man had accessed a secure area of the site and had assaulted two people in a hanger and verbally threatening a third person. Two victims suffered minor injuries, the third was uninjured.

Armed officers attended and a man, aged in his 30s, was detained shortly after 2.40am. and arrested on suspicion of assault. He remains in custody at Wymondham Police Investigation Centre where he will be questioned.

The hanger has been sealed off while officers carry out initial enquiries.

No public areas of the airport have been affected by this incident – Norwich Airport remains open and flights are operating as normal.
