Young people in Sprowston are joining forces with the Sprowston Dementia Friendly community to organise activities to help people with the condition.

Sprowston Youth Engagement Project will be holding a 1950s tea dance on August 10 for people living with dementia and their families.

In order to make this a really special occasion they are hoping people will donate their time, some bunting, tea sets, flowers, cakes,1950s decorations, games, 1950s clothes… and someone to teach the youngsters how to dance!

They would also like to hear from a singer or anyone with other 1950s attractions.

They also plan to paint the annexe at St Cuthbert’s church and are hoping for donations of paint, brushes and rollers. If anyone has magnolia and blue gloss or trade paint they no longer need, Clare Lincoln, project lead for SYEP, would love to hear from you.

There is also scope for more young volunteers to join the group.
