The Eaton Park Carol Concert is making a welcome return this festive season after three years away.
The Friends of Eaton Park and the Eaton Park Café have confirmed the popular event will take place on the evening of Friday, December 16.

Dereham Town Band will be on the bandstand playing favourite festive songs and Christmas carols from 7pm.
Eaton Park Café will stay open into the evening and they’ve organised a Christmas fair from 6pm to 8pm with gifts and treats from local artists, makers and suppliers. Father Christmas will also be on hand to help spread good cheer.

Helen Mitchell, Chair of the Friends of Eaton Park, said: “This is a proper local celebration. All ages are welcome and it’ll be a lovely thing to come to as a family or with friends and neighbours.
“We’ve chosen the last day of term for the concert so it’s a nice way for families to start their festive holiday together.
“We encourage people to walk to the park or to come by bike and public transport if they can.  This is what’s happened in previous years and it works really well – there’s a lovely sense of occasion as people walk into the park together.

“As it will be dark and there are some uneven surfaces it’s best to come wearing sensible shoes and with a torch. The bandstand and rotunda will be nice and twinkly though!”

Song sheets will be available to download or read on mobile phones. There’ll also be some printed copies available on the night. Organisers have also said the fair will run later than 8pm if enough people are enough people present.
