The Guide Dog Charity has been boosted by Freemasons in Sheringham, who chose it as their good cause for 2023.

Local potter Chris Waller went along – with his own guide dog, Pennard – to collect the cheque for almost £5,000.

Blakeney Lodge master Clive Nelson opted to raise money for the charity partly after being inspired by its TV campaign, and also because he has friends who are facing the challenges of visual-impairment.

Chris, who is the north Norfolk local Guide Dogs Charity co-ordinator, said: “This is a very generous donation, received with huge thanks, and will make a difference to those visually-impaired… whether through supporting the raising of a new guide dog or through its service work supporting those people diagnosed as visually-impaired.”
