A weekend packed full of music, dance and and family entertainment got this year’s Crab and Lobster Festival off to a snappy start.

Beginning with the traditional variety show at the Pavilion Theatre – hosted by Ben Langley with Dale Bullimore, and featuring the talented Live and Let’s Dance School of Dance and the Pot of Gold Shanty Crew – the weekend continued with a host of entertainment at Evington Lawns.

The Davies family, the No 1 Cromer fish restaurant, Rocky Bottoms, Gibson’s bistro, the King’s Head at Letheringsett and The Cliftonville Hotel all took part, offering demonstrations for delicious ideas with crabs and lobsters.

And with local bands playing, stalls for local crafters and charities, and lots of street entertainers, the weekend was hailed as another success.

The festival carries on over the summer with a trail of decorated treasure chests to follow, with 61 businesses taking part.

The chests will be auctioned on Sunday, August 31, at the World Crabbing Competition.

You can pick up a leaflet about the trail wherever you see one of the chests.
