A summer of roadworks
Drivers using Wroxham Road will be navigating diversions, temporary traffic lights and road closures until the middle of August.
They have already been coping with the closure of the road between the Blue Boar roundabout – which serves Tesco and Lidl – and Atlantic Avenue, which has been shut to allow for work on the electricity supply to homes in the area.
This will reopen on July 18 to be replaced from July 20 until August 15 by temporary traffic lights from Atlantic Avenue to beyond the Sprowston Park and Ride site.
The work is being carried out by Connect It Utility Services on behalf of Barratt and David Wilson Homes and Leep Utilities.
Resident Melissa James said she was unable to drive to the supermarkets, while others have said on social media that they are concerned about rat-running by people using residential roads to avoid the lengthy detour and traffic queues.
