Age Concern gets ready for March events

Age Concern North Norfolk has teamed up with GIFT (Good Intentions Fundraising Team) and The Grand Order of Water Rats in 2016 to help raise much needed funds for both charities.

There is a great range of activities and event planned fo the whole year and March sees two particular highlights.

The GIFT Annual Talent Show is open to anyone and there are adult and junior sections. Auditions are being held on Sunday, the of March 13, at 10.30am prompt at Age Concern North Norfolk Day Centre on Cremer Street in Sheringham, with a grand final at approx 2pm. The overall winner(s) will perform in this year’s Annual Variety Show on September 25 at the Auden Theatre, Holt.

Entry forms are available from the Age Concern North Norfolk Day Centre in Sheringham, from the local libraries or by calling 01263 823126. There is no age limit, everyone is welcome to have a go and entry is only £1 per person. All entries must be in by no later than March 3.

A quiz evening is planned for Friday, March 4, from 7.30pm at the Age Concern North Norfolk Day Centre. It costs just £5 per person to come along and includes supper. March also sees the group teaming up with the local library servcie again to put on some fun and relaxed workshops and events, includin drawing, exercise and cooking demo with a lunch as part of the libraries warm and welcoming community activities in Cromer on March 2 and North Walsham on March 9.

Age Concern North Norfolk continues to put on intergenerational events, in conjunction with Gresham’s School in Holt once a month; all led by the wonderful Year 12 students as part of their community studies. The next activity is on the March 4 at 2pm –  a baking day in time for Easter.
