Appeal after woman assaulted, North Walsham

Police are appealing for information after a woman was attacked as she walked home following a night out in North Walsham.

It happened in the early hours on Saturday morning (8 November) between 2.05am and 2.15am when the victim, a woman in her 30s, walked on Pound Road.

As she entered the alleyway linking Pound Road to Nelson Road the victim was grabbed by the hair from behind, causing her to fall forward and bang her head on fence. The victim, who was uninjured, elbowed the suspect who then fled the scene.

Investigating officer, PC Kerron Tuttle, said: “I would urge people to be mindful of their personal safety while out and about at night.

“I’m keen to hear from anyone who may have information about this incident or noticed anything out of the ordinary in the area around the times stated.”
