Golden-hearted volunteers across Aylsham have come together to help vulnerable residents during the coronavirus crisis.

Aylsham Parish Church has launched an Aylsham Coronavirus Community Helpline, supported by organisations throughout the town.

Rev Jack Branford, Aylsham’s curate, said: “If you are self-isolating our wonderful community is here to help.”

The number is: 01263 704475.

Users are invited to ring the helpline if they need:

  • a friendly phone call
  • mail posted
  • urgent supplies
  • someone to pick up shopping

Your call will be answered by one of the community organisations in Aylsham, and they will put you in contact with a volunteer who can help at this difficult time.

Aylsham Town Council is happy to co-ordinate any help needed and can be contacted on: 01263 733354.

ACT – Aylsham and District Care Trust – is another of the organisations working with the church.

Its services will stay open for clients who need them, except for its social outings which have been postponed. However, the situation could change and clients should keep an eye on ACT’s website: https://www.aylshamcaretrust.co.uk/latest-news/latest-news/act-on-coronavirus/

A spokesman said: “We will be closely watching government guidelines and reviewing the situation across Aylsham, North Walsham and the surrounding villages in order to ensure that the services we are able to offer remain safe in the circumstances.
