Following the discovery of a body yesterday at an address on John of Gaunt Close in Aylsham, police are continuing with their investigations.

Although the deceased is yet to be formally named it is believed to be that of 27 year old James Smith, known as ‘Smitty’ in the town.

Friends flooded his Facebook page with tributes. One said: “I still just can’t believe it. I don’t know anyone who was such a genuine friend to so many people as Smitty. He was loved so much by all, and to say we’ll miss him is an understatement.”

Another added: “Rip Smitty I don’t know what to say! The good die young and you’re just another angel that God selected, Sleep well”

A 29-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is helping police with their enquiries.
