Aylsham parties in honour of the Queen

Aylsham partied today in honour of the Queen.

More than 1,000 people gathered in the market place to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday and to show how much fun this town can have when it gets together.

The Big Lunch, which attracted more people than the memorable Jubilee celebration of 2012 partly because more space was available for tables and chairs, was arguably the most popular community event in Aylsham for decades.

There was live music, plenty of food and one or two celebratory drinks.

The event was fully booked well in advance – and you can see why from our photos which were taken by Simon Watson.
