Beat a path to this special music event
A Hellesdon-based drummer is hosting a special event to bring drum enthusiasts together and inspire others to take up the instrument.
Dan “Mozzie” Moss will be welcoming people to Drum Hang on Friday, August 22 at Hellesdon Community Centre.

MUSIC MAESTRO: Dan “Mozzie” Moss has organised the Drum Hang event.
Professional drummers Jamie Murray and Darby Todd, who have worked with some big names in the music industry and toured around the world, will be hosting a drum clinic.
~There will also be stalls for Sonor Drums UK, Evans Drumheads and Into Music – Drum Store, plus a raffle with prizes worth over £100 from big drum brands. You can purchase raffle tickets online or on the day.
Doors open at 4pm to browse the stalls and raffle, stage events start at 5pm and the night ends at 10pm.
The event has taken on more significance for Dan as he recently lost his job with the music store PMT (Play Music Today) after it went into administration. He had worked with them for almost four years and was the only drum salesperson in Norfolk.
“I was absolutely devastated when I heard the news,” said Dan. “I was heartbroken for the local community, my colleagues and the local music scene – this was the last ‘all instruments’ music store in Norfolk.
“Play Music Today was a massive part of my life. All the friends I’ve made, faces I’ve seen – the drum department and drummers in the area and across the UK were like a family to me.
“The Drum Hang Event now means more to me than ever, where we can celebrate the community and be in a room filled with like-minded people. That’s what it’s all about. Everyone is welcome to learn a new skill. Bring the whole family!”
Dan is now self-employed – his new business Mozzie Drums Events & Services will offer tuition, events and workshops, plus maintenance services.
Tickets can be bought from www. mozziedrums.co.uk or if available, on the door.
