Dog owners and residents who are fed up of dodging dog mess in Hellesdon are invited to a special event at the recreation ground on Wednesday, March 23.

From 7.30am until 9.30am, people will have the chance to sign up to Broadland District Council’s Top Dog campaign, which rewards responsible dog owners, but also highlights those who do not pick up after their pets.

Officers from the council’s Environmental Protection team and Hellesdon Parish Council will be at the event to discuss dog fouling in the area.

They will have Broadland Top Dog packs to give away, which include free dog poop bags, a special ribbon to attach to your dog’s collar or lead and the chance to win an iPad Mini.

Councillor John Fisher, Portfolio Holder for Environmental Excellence at Broadland District Council, said: “One of our key ambitions as a council is environmental excellence and we know how frustrating it is to see a few individuals spoiling public spaces, but we need your help to catch them.”

For more information about the campaign or reporting those who are not picking up after their pets, visit www.broadland.gov.uk/topdog , email topdog@broadland.gov.uk or call 01603 430534.
