Celebrating many years of friendship
A weekend of celebrations is being held to mark the friendship between Sheringham and its French twin town, Muzillac.
As well as enjoying a fun weekend, organisers hope more people will join the Sheringham Muzillac Twinning Association and get more involved in the cross-Channel relationship.
The towns have been officially twinned for 10 years, but they first made friends in 2021. And to mark this special bond, events will be held from May 8 to May 11.

Called Bonjour, Sheringham, the fun starts with a French film night at the Little Theatre on Thursday, May 8. This will be followed by a tutored tasting of Loire Valley wines on Friday, May 9, at the community centre.
And on May 10 and 11, organisers have arranged “beaucoup de” indoor and outdoor activities ranging from a guided ramble of the local area and sporting activities supported by the Reef and Sheringham Golf Club to a sand chateau building event on the beach.
A new mural by local artists Mel Ashcroft and Colin Seal, celebrating the twinning of Sheringham and Muzillac, will be unveiled on the Saturday morning, followed by a performance by the Sheringham Shantymen. And Oddfellows Hall is hosting a fair where you can meet local community groups.
Sunday will see a family fun day and other musical and sporting activities planned across the weekend will involve The Shanty Sirens, Holt Ridge Morris Dancers, Sheringham Ukulele Group and True Motion Dance Studio.
All Sheringham schools will be involved in performances and exhibitions at the High School.
On Saturday evening there will be a “Fest Noz” at Sheringham High School with Biggles and the Dance Pilots.
Fest Noz translates as “Festival Night” in Breton (the language of Brittany) and is a traditional music and dance night with a live band.
There ill be a mix of British, Breton and French music, and no experience or partners are needed for the dancing. Non-dancers can go along to just sit and enjoy the music.
Tickets are already on sale for the film, the wine tasting and the Fest Noz.
