Final preparations are being made for a special charity football match in memory of a young North Walsham footballer.

Remy’s Game will take place at North Walsham Town’s Greens Road ground on Saturday, May 25.

Seven-year-old Remy Johnson died in June 2022, five days after being rushed to Great Ormond Street Hospital for emergency heart surgery.
Remy’s Foundation was set up in his memory and has raised tens of thousands of pounds for the Flamingo cardiac intensive care ward at the London specialist children’s hospital which cared for him.

Remy’s Game was first held last year and is making a welcome return, with a match between the Johnson Family and Friends and a team being put together by Paul Tong and Mick Alexander.

This will include former footballers, local players, other Johnson family friends and possibly some minor celebrities.

Following the game, which kicks off at 3pm, there will be live music from Jack Daniel and DJ Nicky Wood.

The event will also feature street food vendors and other attractions, including bouncy castles. See North Walsham Town’s Facebook page for more information.
