Charity needs help collecting Christmas trees
People with vans, trucks and trailers are being urged to support a Christmas tree recycling scheme which raises vital funds for a local charity.
East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) is looking for volunteers to collect the trees from gardens and driveways for two days in early January.
As well as helping to recycle thousands of Christmas trees, the scheme raises funds for providing specialist care and support to children, young people and families across East Anglia.

EACH is looking for people and businesses that can provide a van, truck or flatbed trailer and help collect trees from local homes before transporting them to nearby recycling drop-off points on Thursday, January 7 and Friday, January 8.
A spokesman for EACH said: “The role couldn’t be simpler. We’ll welcome you to the hospice with a breakfast roll, hot drink and snack pack before providing an easy-to-follow route.
“All the trees will be ready and waiting outside each property, meaning you can simply load them up and take them for recycling.”
Every year, the campaign relies entirely on the generosity of volunteers who give up their time, energy and vehicles.
Planning for January has already begun and the charity urgently needs to secure enough drivers and vehicles to meet demand.
