This year marks the 10th anniversary for The Cromer Christmas Show, which opens on the Saturday, November 29. With all the sparkle and fun of a traditional variety show but with that added magical Christmas twist, this will be a ‘cracker’ of a show that will bring a smile to your face and a glow to your heart.

Show producers Openwide Coastal are delighted to welcome special guest vocalist Lyn Paul to the cast this year. Lyn first found fame and “taught the world to sing” with The New Seekers and went on to establish an outstanding solo career both as a singer, selling millions of records worldwide, and as an accomplished actor performing on the West End Stage in Blood Brothers and Footloose. She’s also appeared on prime time TV in Coronation Street, Emmerdale and Holby City. This is Lyn’s first visit to Cromer and she is looking forward to working in one of the UK’s most famous pier theatres.

Starring alongside Lyn, is one of Norfolk’s top entertainers Olly Day who has over the past years made The Cromer Christmas Show his own.  A firm favourite with audiences of all ages, his cheeky chappie humour and superb singing voice have won the hearts of show regulars and added to Olly’s army of fans.

Also appearing for the first time in Cromer is comedy magician Benson, his warm and spontaneous personality is sure to win him fans while his ‘handbells’ routine is a very timely and seasonal addition to a Christmas Show.

Cromer’s very own male vocalist Eddie Bushell makes a welcome return to the show. Eddie has recently completed another season as musical director and bandleader at Mundesley Holiday Village. He has also been busy with Acafellas; a six-piece male vocal harmony and beatbox group who are currently wowing the wedding and corporate events scene.

The Cromer Christmas Choir, is now an established part of The Cromer Christmas Show, bringing to the stage superb harmonies and the warm sounds of Christmas Carols while the Seaside Special Dancers add their own Christmas sparkle to the show, with colourful, glamorous costumes and the energy and vitality of their superb dance routines.  Children from Marlene’s School of Dancing have been adding that extra charm to the show since the very first show in 2003 and giving local children an opportunity to perform their talents as part of one of the best Christmas Shows in East Anglia.

Producers Openwide Coastal Ltd have once again created a show that will delight audiences of all ages. Devisor, Director and Choreographer Di Cooke is, again, the visionary behind the show and along with Musical Director Nigel Hogg has created a show that will delight audiences of all ages.  Di Cooke said “This years show is packed full of Christmas tradition”. She continued; “We are all delighted to welcome Lyn Paul to Cromer and are all looking forward to working with her and hope she will enjoy a real Cromer Christmas”.

The Pavilion Theatre has a worldwide reputation for its famous summer variety show ‘The Cromer Pier Show’ also known as ‘Seaside Special’, which is now recognised as the last remaining ‘End-of-the-Pier’ variety show in Europe. Its continuous run of 37 years must also rank it amongst the longest running variety shows in the UK and with it’s younger sister, The Cromer Christmas Show, celebrating its 10th year, it is easy to see why Cromer Pier’s Pavilion Theatre is now hailed in the ‘business’ as the ‘Home of live variety’.

The 2014 Cromer Christmas Show opens on Saturday 29th November with matinee and evening performances (2pm and 7pm) until 27th December.
