Pupils from Drayton Community Infant School were circus stars for a week when Circus Ferrel set up on the school field and invited them in for some workshops before appearing in the actual shows!

Children from the school and Childerwood Nursery watched the Big Top go up on the field on Monday morning, then throughout the week they had an assembly in the Big Top and learned a whole range of circus skills, ranging from plate spinning to juggling.

Year 3 children from Drayton Junior School also joined in with the learning for a morning.
“This week at Drayton Community Infant School has been amazing,” said headteacher Claire Bates.

“The teachers linked their planning across the whole curriculum to the circus theme. “The children and their families attended the circus shows throughout the week and the children were part of the performance, using the skills they had learned in the week.

“Lots of parents have commented on how special this week has been and will hold long lasting memories for them.

“Many thanks to Circus Ferrel, the school staff, the children and their families for making this such a fantastic fun week at school.”
