Companies have been praised for working with the Norfolk County Council to help support the community in the face of the coronavirus pandemic.

These are just some of the ways in which the council and companies are working together:

Norse donating food to homelessness charities and foodbanks;

Wilko donating handwashing products;

McDonalds donating hand sanitiser and boxes;

Local construction firm Morgan Sindall and housing developer Lovell donating personal protective equipment for the county council staff.

County council leader Andrew Proctor said: “In these exceptional times, it is heart-warming to see how companies are pulling out all the stops to work with us to support the NHS and the community.

“It’s a great example of how we are working better together, for the good of Norfolk. These are examples of the positives that are coming out of these worrying times.

“The county council continues to work with suppliers and the government to ensure that our supplies of personal protective equipment remain well stocked, but every bit we can source locally helps with that resilience.”

Any company that wants to donate products to support the council’s work should contact buildingmaintenance@norfolk.gov.uk.
