Cubs are sharp shooters
Teams of sharp-shooters from across the district were at the 1st Taverham Scouts headquarters last month for the first North Norwich District Cub shooting competition.
Three teams from Taverham were among the 11 battling it out across five disciplines, providing a full – albeit chilly – day of fun for the 44 Cubs who entered.

Using air rifles, the teams of four gained scores from each shooting range set up indoors and within the Sandy Lane grounds – including standing, sitting and prone – plus spinner targets for a bit of fun. Each team also had a go at archery.
The 1st Taverham leaders were extremely proud of all their Cubs who took part, all representing their packs with pride.
Waingunga pack won second place in the standing and sitting categories, with Seeonee pack coming second in the
prone shooting to take second place in the overall team category.

The event was organised and run by instructors of the Norfolk County Shooting team, supported by Cub leaders and young leaders on the day.
It was enjoyed by all the Cubs and volunteers – topped off for the Taverham teams by their official certificates and shiny, silver medals.
The group is always looking for more volunteers to go along to help run the activities.
