Deserted coast

Normally, Easter weekend would see thousands of people heading for the coast to enjoy the sunshine and time with family and friends.

This year, the restrictions around the coronavirus pandemic have meant people were urged to stay at home – and it appears that, in north Norfolk at least, they seem to have complied.

Photographer Chris Taylor took these amazing drone photos showing how quiet Sheringham was on Easter Sunday.

“Beaches deserted, promenade empty, streets, pub beer gardens and car parks devoid of activity when we’d normally be fighting to drive through town for tourists eating chips and ice cream in the road,” he said. “Great that people have stayed away, but very weird to see on what would usually be a very busy weekend for the town.”
