Eaton Park centre goes from strength to strength

Eaton Park community centre’s role as a thriving public hub has been highlighted during a year of outstanding progress.

“This year we’ve gone from strength to strength,” trustees chairman Stuart Beard told the Eaton Park Community Association’s annual meeting.

“In June 2023 we increased charges which had not been changed for decades, doubling them overnight, but we still remain one of the cheapest venues in Norwich to hire.

“This had no impact on the number of hirers, and obviously helped our income. We hire out rooms every day and every evening apart from Tuesdays at the moment.”

The booking secretary reported an influx of new hirers during the year. On average there are 20 regular hirers a week using the centre, catering for a diverse range of activities.

During the year the Association has helped numerous charities, activities and initiatives. It remains in a healthy financial position, enabling it to sustain ongoing projects, support new initiatives and maintain financial stability.

“As a charitable association, we are committed to operating Eaton Park Community Centre in a manner that benefits the local community,” said Stuart.

“The forecasted surplus and recent donations illustrate our dedication to supporting diverse community needs, from education and fitness to cultural events and sustainable energy.

“We look forward to continued growth and collaboration with our community partners as we work towards a sustainable, welcoming, and vibrant community space.”

Current Hire Rates: Hall £10, Small room £8, Private Parties £20 (all per hour)
