Emergency services were called to Coltishall this weekend to deal with a diesel spillage on the river.

Three fire engines, environmental protection unit, fire and rescue and the Broads Authority tackled the spillage near the Rising Sun pub, which included pulling a drag line across the river and filling it with special cloth to contain and soak up the diesel before it could float downstream.

However, the emergency teams suggested it was caused by a boat and that the spillage looked worse than it was and that the impact to the environment should not be of any worry.
