A colour consultant is feeling in the pink after winning her first award in a regional competition for small businesses.

Evangeline Hallett, who owns Vivaldi Colour and Style Consultancy in Taverham, was shortlisted in The Small Business Awards – and was then recognised as one of nine finalists across the eastern region.

“I was shortlisted and then didn’t think any more of it,” said Evangeline, 31.

“I thought it was nice I’d made it as a finalist!”

People were then invited to cast their votes, selecting a winner and a highly commended runner-up – the award that went to Evangeline.

“I won an award and I’m very proud. I still can’t believe it.”

Evangeline (pictured) started the business in 2023, helping people choose the colours and styles which suit them best and offering a personal shopping service.

She also works part-time in the NHS as a personal assistant but would like to run her own business full-time.

“I love doing this,” she said. “I’m so happy when I’m doing it. I love meeting people, hearing their stories and helping them.”

With a steady local clientele, she is hoping to expand into working with celebrities and making more of her social media presence.

“In five to 10 years I’d like to be the person people go to for style advice,” she said.
