Fire crews battle two field blazes
Fire crews from seven stations are tackling a large field fire just outside Aylsham.
Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service appliances from Aylsham, Earlham, Hethersett, Sprowston, North Walsham, Attleborough and Wymondham have been joined by specialist wildfire vehicles and a water carrier at a large field fire that started in Stapletons Lane, outside the town, just after 2pm.
The original fire spread across a road, setting light to another field, and crews are working hard to contain and extinguish the blaze.
There is also an ongoing field fire at Knapton, near North Walsham.
Crews from Dereham, Holt, Reepham, Wroxham, Stalham and Long Stratton are in attendance, along with the water carrier from Fakenham.
A service spokesman has asked people to avoid these areas and to close doors and windows if the smoke is travelling in the direction of their home or workplace.
