Talented artists from the Aylsham area will throw open their doors and welcome visitors as part of an event starting later this month.

The annual North Norfolk Open Studios runs from May 24 until June 8 and includes an Aylsham & the Villages Art Trail.

Michael Scott, one of the artists on the Aylsham trail, said: “In May and June, local artists will be throwing open their doors as part of North Norfolk Open Studios. As there will be no Norwich equivalent this year, interest is expected to be keen. “
Locally we have a trail that’s starts in Aylsham and wends its way through Brampton, Erpingham, Wickmere and Thurgaton.
“The artists on show will be painters, sculptors, woodworkers and felters, so there is something for everyone.”

The nine artists involved in the Aylsham trail are Lesley Ash, Richard Berry, Jackie Dorras, Bob Grimble, Jackie Grimble, Jo Hillam, Angie Maddigan, Mary Newton and Michael Scott.

In total, North Norfolk Open Studios features 11 local trails featuring more than 100 artists.

An event spokesperson said: “We are an artists’ co-operative, made up of over 100 artists and makers, created to showcase the wide-ranging ability and talent residing in this part of the country. We will be opening up our workplaces to visitors so that we can meet and chat in our workshops, gardens and studios and also give you the opportunity to buy direct from the artist. This is a totally free event for you to enjoy.”

More information on the artists – including photos of their work, contact details, opening times, trail maps and their locations – is available at www. northnorfolkstudios.co.uk

Publicity including brochures, trail maps and posters will also be available locally.
