Redwings Horse Sanctuary’s veterinary team will be sharing top tips and first-hand experience at a free evening seminar on Wednesday, April 27, at the charity’s Aylsham visitor centre.

If you care for a horse who suffers from sensitive skin or would like to know more about keeping him happy and healthy in his older years then this is the event for you – and best of all, it’s completely free to attend.

Redwings’ head of veterinary and care and senior veterinary surgeon Nicky Jarvis is passionate about supporting horses through their later years and has 20 years’ experience of doing just that at the sanctuary. From explaining the science behind common age-related conditions and their treatment to sharing simple management tips that can make a real difference to veterans, Nicky has got it covered.

As warmer weather approaches, the seminar will explore the often relentless condition sweet itch, which affects around 5% of all horses in the UK.

Experienced Redwings veterinary nurse Anna Clarke will explain the root causes of this allergy and make sure attendees are up to speed with the full range of treatment and management options available to make sure that neither you nor your horse are driven to distraction this summer.

Doors will open for the event at 6.30pm and complimentary teas and coffees will be available on arrival. The evening is free to attend but space is limited so to make sure you don’t miss out please reserve your place by emailing education@redwings.co.uk or calling 01508 481066.
