Gemma Priddy, from Aylsham, has braved the shave, and raised more than £1,300 for NHS Charities.

Gemma, 37, a trainee eyelash technician and shadow Boogie Bounce teacher alongside her mum, Debby, had all her hair shaved off on Friday and is delighted with the support she has received.

“I managed to reach £1,345 in the end which I’m absolutely thrilled with. There have been some really generous donations and so many kind wishes,” she said.

“My son James shaved my head for me on FB live, so we had an audience. It was lovely to read the encouraging messages whilst having it done. I also had a large wine in my hand to help ease the nerves.

“My reason for shaving my head is simply because I’ve felt frustrated being stuck at home and feeling like I can’t help or do anything in this horrible situation we all find ourselves in,” added Gemma, who has three children and lives in Bure Meadows.

“I have quite a few friends who work for the NHS, some of whom are on the front line in the NNUH. Some are having to live without their children for weeks at a time and they’re working incredibly long hours.

“I’m so appreciative of the work of our NHS heroes, both locally and nationally. This is just my small way of trying to raise some money for a very worthy cause.”
