Give a hog a home
A local building company turned its attention to homes for our prickly pals to mark Hedgehog Week last month.
Barratt and David Wilson Homes donated a specially crafted hedgehog home to White House Farm Primary School in response to a call to action by the British Hedgehog Preservation Society.

The school is near the developer’s Woodland Heath project.
“Developing curiosity of the natural world and promoting a love of nature enables our students to be more aware of biodiversity,” said headteacher Lisa Cannell.
“Providing opportunities for our students to learn more about hedgehog habitats through this donation is a great way to build their understanding of the important role we play in protecting nature.”
As of July 2020, the British hedgehog was officially classified as vulnerable to extinction, which means it is more important than ever to protect our prickly neighbours.
Alison Page, sales director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Anglia, said: “We hope our donation will give local hedgehogs protection and a safe home at White House Farm Primary School, whilst also encouraging the pupils to consider the wildlife near their own homes.”
