After 18 years on Sheringham’s Church street, butcher Icarus Hines is hanging up his cleaver and handing over to long-standing manager Martin Rowe and his partner Debbie Cutting.

Martin and Debbie are trading as M & D Butchers after giving 35 years’ loyal service between them. Martin has been the manager at Sheringham shop from day one and Debbie has worked with Icarus in the Cromer shop for the past 11 years.

Icarus said: “Both Martin and Debbie have been fantastic members of my team. Martin has always done a brilliant job as manager at Sheringham and it’s been a great privilege to have worked alongside Debbie and she will certainly be missed by all at the Cromer shop. Together they have the experience and skills to make a great success of their new business venture and I will give them my full support. I would also like to thank the good people of Sheringham for the support they have given me and strongly recommend supporting Martin and Debbie in their new venture.”

Normal service will continue at Icarus Hines in Cromer and Icarus can still be found working in there some 30 years since he first opened his doors.
