Cromer Carnival, now in its 45th year, has selected this year’s Miss Cromer and her Senior Attendant.

Trainee chef Hayley Massingham was named Miss Cromer on Friday 25 April at the annual competition. 18 year old Hayley from Cromer, who inherits the crown from Jade Armstrong, will lead the town’s annual celebrations this August.

The ever-popular Miss Cromer competition took place at The Cliftonville Hotel and saw ten entrants vying for the title, with Erin Holroyd, 17, from Aldborough chosen as the Senior Attendant.

The pair will feature heavily in the Cromer Carnival week which runs 16-22 August and will be supported by two junior attendants and a prince and princess who are yet to be selected.

Miss Massingham said “I’m shocked, I really didn’t expect it and it’s absolutely brilliant”.

Senior Attendant Erin, who was the Carnival’s Junior Attendant in 2011, said “it’s amazing and I’m really looking forward to it.”
