It’s lighting up time
Sprowston is well known for its Christmas light displays, and Linton Crescent will be sparkling once again this year.
The money raised by people popping along to see them will go to Norfolk SEN Network – a charity supporting local families of children with special educational needs.
The lights will be officially turned on at number 33, the home of Tony and Jeanette Fairweather, by Father Christmas at 5pm on Monday, December 1.
With a lot of the neighbours taking part, there will be a party atmosphere with mince pies and mulled wine for the adults and sweets from Santa for the children.
This is the third year the lights have raised money for the charity. The last two Christmases each raised almost £700 and there is a donation box on the crescent.
Sparhawk Avenue will also be decorated and lit up for the sixth year running.
Susan and Shaun Streeter and their family decorate their home for Christmas to raise money for the Royal British Legion, a cause close to Susan’s heart.
Her father served in the army, and the family hopes to help veterans and serving soldiers who need help from the charity.
The lights will be on from Saturday, November 29, and will be on between 5pm and 9pm every night.
There’s a collection box outside the house for donations or you can visit www.justgiving.com/page/susan-streeter-10 to help boost the total.
