Join Hellesdon’s charity Santa Dash

Hellesdon’s Santa Dash is returning for a third year of festive fun and fundraising.

The event, on Sunday December 14, will bring the community together for a 5K fun run (or walk) around Hellesdon in aid of MIND Mental Health Charity.

The event will start from outside the Cards n Things Shop, in Reepham Road, at 9.30am and the entry fee is £5 per person. Fancy dress is optional but encouraged.

“Adults, children, and even pets (on leads, of course!) are invited to get moving in the Christmas spirit. Whether you choose to run, jog, or walk, the focus is on fun, connection, and community, not competition,” said organiser Keree Sutton.

“I’m a fitness instructor and personal trainer in Hellesdon and I’m so passionate about getting people up and moving.

“I’ve always said, when the body is busy, the mind isn’t. I don’t focus my group classes on fat loss or calorie burn – that’s just a bonus. My goal is to get people moving for their mental wellbeing. Movement is one of the best things we can do for our minds.”

Over the past two years, the Santa Dash has raised funds for important causes including SADS UK, Hellesdon food bank and MIND, with incredible support from the local community.
“Many participants have shared how joining my classes and Hellesdon Heart & Sole run club has changed and even saved their lives,” added Keree.
“I’ve seen people who were in a dark place find friendship, connection, and purpose through movement.
“That’s why these events and my job means so much to me.”
“It’s simply a loop of Hellesdon, and you can do as much or as little as you like. Everyone is welcome.” “So, pull out your Santa suits, Christmas jumpers, fairy lights and festive fancy dress and come join the fun. Whether you’re walking, running, or dancing your way around the course, you’ll be helping raise money for a vital cause — and spreading a little festive joy in the process.”
