Officers from the Aylsham Safer Neighbourhoods Team will be hosting an internet safety awareness course this month.

The course will take place on Saturday 11 January at 11am in the Jubilee Family Centre, Norwich Road, and is designed to educate adults on how to keep young people safe whilst surfing the internet.

The event, which is free to attend, will be run by PCSO Laura Munro-Oakley, who said: “This class is open to any adult with responsibility for a child and is designed so that attendees will be able to teach their children how to use the internet safely. The internet is part of our everyday lives and as children grow-up they will use it more and more to socialise and study. It’s important that a parent or guardian teaches them the about the dangers of talking to strangers online and how to search for material safely.”

The course will last approximately an hour with a chance for all attendees to ask questions.
