Make a splash for mental health care
Norfolk and Waveney Mind’s Sea Splash is back for another year, making big waves for local mental health services.
On February 1, Sea Splash will be coming to Cromer beach – a short dip challenge to raise funds for mental health services.

After the town’s Boxing Day swim was cancelled because of strong winds and high tides, lots of swimmers were left disappointed – so organisers hope they might try this instead.
“Cold water dips don’t just raise funds, they raise spirits,” said a Mind spokesman. “A quick splash in the sea can boost your mood, improve your wellbeing, and leave you with a huge sense of achievement.”
Among those who took part in last year’s Sea Splash were Jennie and Mark from Bradwell, who raised £1,186 in memory of their son, Steven, who took his own life in 2014.
“He was just 23 years old and had been let down by the system repeatedly.
“We want to help raise funds to make sure nobody else feels so desperate that they feel suicide is the only answer.”
The event starts at 10am for registration on Sunday, February 1, and participants taking the plunge at 11am.
It costs £10 to sign up early or £15 on the day, and groups of five swimmers can get a special ticket for £40.
There are also rewards to be won by fundraisers.
