Man charged after stabbing

A man arrested in connection with a stabbing in Taverham at the weekend has been charged with assault.

Sanjay Morrison, 40 and of no fixed address, was due to appear at Norwich Magistrates Court this morning (Tuesday, November 15) accused of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm and possession of a knife in a public.

It follows an incident at an address in Walsingham Drive in the early hours of Sunday in which a man, aged in his 20s, suffered stab wounds to his hands, ear and stomach.

The man was found by paramedics at the junction of Reepham Road and Drewray Drive at around 6am and taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.

Two men were later arrested in connection with the incident and taken to Aylsham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

Morrison was charged while a 29-year-old man has been released without charge.
