Former Royal Marines from Norfolk and beyond took the plunge in the chilly North Sea to complete a challenge set by a comrade.

The Cold Dip Commando national challenge was set by ex-Marine Tim Crossin, who died in December, and is helping friends and famly to keep his memory alive. The challenge Tim set was to complete a cold water dip or swim every day in January, going clockwise around the coast of the UK, starting and finishing at his local beach in Poole.

It has to be completed without wetsuits and wearing nothing but the Green Beret, swimming trunks and a smile.

The Norfolk leg of the challenge was done at Happisburgh lifeboat station, where operations manager Racheal Kirkham – who served in the navy – also took part.
