MP Clive praises ‘incredible work’ of Chatterbox
Norwich South MP Clive Lewis has praised volunteers at talking news charity Chatterbox for their “incredible work”.
Clive, a former journalist, read the news when he visited the King Street office of the organisation which is dedicated to supporting people who are vision impaired or blind.

TALKING POINT: MP Clive Lewis reads the news at Norwich Chatterbox, as Mark Smith and Mike Blythe listen.
Founded in 1978 as one of the UK’s first Talking Newspapers, Norwich Chatterbox plays a vital role in connecting listeners to their communities.
“It was inspiring to see the team’s dedication and learn more about the impact of their work. For many, Chatterbox is more than just a news source; it’s a vital lifeline that brings companionship, independence, and a sense of inclusion,” said Clive.
Eaton resident Roger Ryan has stepped down as Chatterbox chairman after a successful three-year stint.
At the annual meeting he handed over the reins to Paul Henderson, a retired headmaster, who lives in Norwich, and is a member of the reading team.

TIME FOR CHANGE: Outgoing Norwich Chatterbox chairman Roger Ryan and his successor Paul Henderson with their smart speakers.
“Thanks to everyone for their support and help over the past three years – it’s been great fun and very worthwhile,” said Roger.
The meeting at Vision Norfolk heard that listener figures top 750 a week, and over 90 volunteers support the operation.
