New clubhouse for young footballers

It started with a promise made by former Mayor Pat West and now Cromer Youth Football Club has been handed the keys to its new clubhouse.

It was back in May 2024 that Pat attended Cromer Youth’s awards evening and, after witnessing more than 250 children receiving their trophies in the Pier Theatre, he boldly made a pledge “to find Cromer Youth a home for the children, parents and managers to enjoy.”

Since then, Cromer Town Council has been working with Primary Health Properties Group (PHP), which owns the original Cromer Town Football clubhouse on Mill Road, Cromer (Cabell Park), to arrange for the club to use as its own base.

A town council spokesperson said: “On the 8th of September, PHP officially handed Cromer Youth Football Club the keys to the clubhouse. The event was attended by Cromer town councillors, club managers, committee members and, of course, lots of young people that play for Cromer Youth Football Club.

At the event, Pat West also gave CYFC Chairman Chris Chisholm a cheque for £2,000. This was raised during the Mayor’s fundraising ball in April 2025 held at the Cliftonville.

“PHP were delighted to be at the event and have hopes to come again as they enjoyed the lovely atmosphere, which was filled with community spirit. They also supported Cromer Youth Football Club further by sponsoring a football kit for the U15 Lionesses.”

NEW ERA: The keys for the new clubhouse have been handed over.
