A former North Walsham café opens today in a new guise, as a waffle house.

The Waffle Hut has been launched in the premises which was formerly Liaison at the lower end of Market Street.

“We wanted something different for the town and waffles are becoming more and more popular,” said owner Rob Scammell, who occupies other shops in the town with his Kitale charity.

The restaurant has been done out in diner style and staff hope it to appeal to all ages and families. It doesn’t have a licence to sell alcohol but people can bring their own (as long as they are over 18) for £2.50 corkage per person.

The menu includes breakfast waffles as well as savoury and sweet varieties. They are planning to be open for the Christmas lights switch on.
