Thirty-nine beaches across our Norfolk have made this year’s Good Beach Guide including those in Cromer and Sheringham.

Sheringham, Cromer and East Runton were among the majority of beaches in the area which maintained their “recommended” status year on year.

The water at Hunstanton was described as excellent in 2012 but it has now been downgraded to a minimum standard.

The years review is carried out by the Marine Conservation Society rates the quality of the water. The number that achieved the highest water standard dropped by 30 per cent. The  fall in the number of beaches getting the top rating and is being blamed on one of the UK’s wettest summers on record.
