North Walsham based Benjamin Foundation, a charity which provides more than 30 services for vulnerable children, young people and families across Norfolk, is asking for people to help with its Christmas Shoe Box Appeal.

The charity’s aim is to make sure that every one of the young people it supports has a gift to open on Christmas morning.

For 20 years The Benjamin Foundation has helped thousands of people across the county every year by providing a safe home for vulnerable children, a school for children experiencing challenging circumstances, support for parents and families in difficulty, resettlement services for rough sleepers and those in crisis, childcare and kids clubs, and much more. .

Chris Elliott, marketing and fundraising manager of The Benjamin Foundation said: “Christmas can be a lonely time for many of the children and young adults who live in our supported accommodation. Often, they are not in touch with any family or friends and can feel very isolated. Receiving a shoe box filled with small gifts such as toiletries, stationery, gift vouchers, chocolate or make-up can make a real difference.”

Sam (pictured), who lives in supported accommodation in North Walsham, received a Christmas shoe box last year. She said: “It was a very heartfelt, kind thing for complete strangers to do.”

Anyone wishing to give a Christmas Shoe Box has until December 1 to drop off their gifts at one of these seven points across the county:
